NEC e338 Review

The NEC E338 is a compact 3G phone that shows NEC's continuing commitment to producing high-quality and popular 3G handsets.

The NEC E338 is ultra compact for a 3G handset. It features a large 176x220 pixel display in 65,000 colours and has a 640x480 pixel camera which rotates. The camera can be used for stills photographs and video calls.

The E338 will roam to GSM networks where it supports GPRS, if it would be outside 3G coverage area. It's on the 3G UMTS network that the NEC E338 really performance, giving download speeds of up to 384kbps and allowing streaming video and high-speed web access.

The E338 features a WAP 2.0 browser, Java for games and other applications, two-way video calling, email support and various audio and video playback functions. Internal memory consists of 19Mb which is enough for a couple of audio tracks or video clips.
