Sanyo S750 Review |
|
| Sanyo made its first move on the European mobile phone market, with a new 3G handset for UK consumers.
The Sanyo S750 is exclusively linked to the Orange 3G network.
The S750 is a light (122g) slider phone sporting a 2.4in, 320 x 240, 262,144-colour display that puts plenty of others we've seen into the shade. The handset features a front-mounted VGA digicam for video calls and a 1.3 megapixel job with 4x digital zoom, flash and 16-shot rapid fire mode on the back.
Internally, there's 8MB of memory, which can be boosted by up to 256MB using the handset's SD card slot. The limit has been imposed more by what Sanyo reckons is the most generally available maximum card capacity, but company insiders told The Register the phone should be able to cope with 512MB card and up.
The S750 incorporates infrared and Bluetooth for wireless device connectivity, along with USB for phone-to-PC and phone-to-printer hook-ups, the latter courtesy of its PictBridge support. There are the usual Java games engine, MP3 player and polyphonic ringtone (72 voices) capability too.
Sanyo claims the handset's 850mAh battery will operate for up to 260 hours on stand-by, 100 minutes while making video calls and 170 minutes while handling voice-only communications. The handset can switch into GSM mode (900/1900MHz) for 260 minutes' stand-by time and 190 minutes' talk time.
